“About three to four years ago, I was antiquing with a friend and came across a beautiful piece of milk glass. I had seen many through the years, but this one had my attention. I picked it up, and that piece became the start of a vintage milk glass collection! The next two years were all about milk glass hunting. I read all about vintage milk glass, looked into the difference between the opaque, translucent, and milk white finishes, visited many antique shops, and bought several unique pieces. The collection grew and grew. I display a part of it in my sitting room. I had the back of the built-ins painted in Sherwin-Williams’ Naval (SW-6244) so the milk glass would pop beautifully. Featured in The Spruce

Maria was recently featured with other franchise owners in Spruce magazine’s 9 Designers Share Their Latest Purchases for Their Own Homes.

Designer Maria Loveless recently purchased two modern Binghamton wide velvet armchairs, which now have a spot in her living room. “I needed a pair of chairs that complemented a white sofa I bought a couple years ago,” Loveless explained in an email. “I looked for a long time. I did not want anything traditional and it had to be the right shade of white!” Loveless appreciates how well the chairs she selected fit within the room. She said, “I love how warm and inviting they are while they bring the perfect modern touch to the space.”

Local interior designer honored

Maria Loveless, head of the L&L Design Team, which owns the Decorating Den Interiors franchise serving the Manassas area, was honored with the Chairman’s Positive Thinker Award at the annual international conference. Due to Covid19 closures, the award was presented during a company-wide video conference involving more than 200 interior design professionals.

The Positive Thinker Award was started by the company’s late chairman, James S. Bugg, Sr., who constantly said: “Any sales organization needs a core of positive thinkers.” Each year, he selected a number of owners who “had stood out as examples of having a great attitude, which is the foundation of any successful business.”

Maria receives second award

During this year’s zoom-based international design conference, Maria Loveless received a second award for her achievements during the past year.

Three National Awards

Interior designer Maria Loveless, the owner of The L&L Design Team, a Decorating Den Interiors franchise, was recently recognized with three awards at the company’s national conference.

Decorating Den Interiors is North America’s largest interior design and home furnishings franchise company. The L&L Design Team earned Decorating Den’s Director’s Award and Inaugural Award as well as an Outstanding Growth of a Region Award. All three awards recognize Maria’s quick growth since opening her franchise in 2016.
